Oakmoss Essential Oil is prepared through the process of vacuum distillation of lichen. The essential oil has smell of an earthy moss. The oil is viscous yellowish to olive in nature. Oakmoss Essential Oil has been in use for embalming the dead, and also used as an effective antiseptic, expectorant, fixative and a powerful demulcent. Oakmoss Essential Oil is bestowed with many therapeutic properties too.

Oakmoss Essential Oil is used extensively in preparation of perfumes. The oil works as the premium base note and a strong fixative in preparation of perfumes. The typical scent of oil is used widely in chypre scents. Oakmoss Essential Oil is used in treatment of skin diseases. The oil has usefulness in treatment of cold, cough and respiratory tract blockage.
